The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of Law Number 17 of 2006 in combating smuggling through the examination of court decisions. The research employs a normative juridical method based on legislation, legal literature, and judicial decisions related to customs crimes. The findings indicate that customs regulations have clearly established supervisory mechanisms and sanctions; however, their implementation still faces challenges due to weak supervision, limited law enforcement resources, and a low level of legal compliance within society. The analysis of several court decisions shows that law enforcement has been carried out in accordance with applicable regulations, but has not yet been fully effective in reducing smuggling practices, which continue to evolve in various forms. It can be concluded that the effectiveness of combating smuggling largely depends on strengthening the legal structure, improving the professionalism of law enforcement officers, and enhancing the legal culture of society.
